Belfast Logistics win "Top Irish Training Operator" award

Norfolkline logistics in Belfast achieved national recognition last week with the award for Top Irish Training Operator in the annual Freight and Export Transport and Logistics awards.
This sought after accolade was sponsored in its first year at the awards by Skills for Logistics (SfL), the Sector Skills Council for the UK's freight logistics industries.
The judging process for the award compared nominees against a benchmark of key criteria including:
- Organisational strategy for skills development
- Business benefits achieved through skills development
- Quality of delivery
- Investment in skills
Against a tough field of competitors Norfolkline Logistics Belfast impressed the judges with their ability to tie in training requirements with future business needs, to plan and encourage appropriate training for all their staff, and to evaluate and measure the benefits that training brings to the organisation.
Skills for Logistics Manager of Northern Ireland, Geraldine Quinn said:

SfL is licensed by Government to tackle the skills and productivity needs of employers in the logistics sector, and their sponorship of the award is in keeping with their mission of building effective working relationships between employer and learner stakeholders.
Norfolkline is currently using SfL to help deliver training to staff in both Peterborough and Larkhall. This forms part of the commitment of Norfolkline as a company to be an employer of choice.
