Norfolkline introduces PayPal as a payment mechanism for online ferry booking

The Hague, January 12th 2010

In response to customer demand Norfolkline has introduced PayPal as a payment option for passenger ferry booking on its English Channel, Irish Sea & North Sea ferry routes.

Thanks to the cooperation between Norfolkline and PayPal consumers can now to pay for their ferry bookings online with their PayPal account without incurring payment charges.

Declan Walsh, eBusiness Manager at Norfolkline commented:

"At Norfolkline we try to respond to our customers’ needs to the fullest and the addition of PayPal as a payment method on our ferry booking website is in response to customer demand. We believe that the addition of PayPal as a payment mechanism on our websites will not only improve customer service, but will result in increased sales volumes, especially from our continental markets where credit card penetration is significantly lower than the UK."

Erik Diepering, Sr. Sales Manager PayPal Benelux commented:

"Norfolkline offers a wide range of ferry services in Europe with large numbers of consumers using them for crossings to Great Britain and Ireland. Our partnership with them makes it easier for customers to quickly and easily order tickets online."
