Norfolkline introduces a new fare deal

April 19th 2009

As the finishing touches are made to the brand new Scottish Viking ferry that will service Norfolkline’s Rosyth to Zeebrugge route, the company has announced new pricing packages for foot passengers and vehicle travellers.

The route, which is on schedule for its first sailing from Scotland to Belgium on 19 May, has attracted significant interest from both leisure and freight customers with buoyant forward bookings.

As well as 107 four-berth cabins, Scottish Viking will offer 57 reclining seats, providing a cost-effective option for travellers on a budget.

The new pricing package starts from £70 one-way for foot passengers with one reclining seat, and £165 single fare for a car and one reclining seat. Additional prices are available for those travelling with motorbikes and bicycles.

On board facilities include a restaurant and bar, shop, cinema, free wifi zone, gaming tables, a children’s play area and evening entertainment.

A pet licence is also pending and Norfolkline will introduce pet tickets at a future date, as and when the licence is granted.

Don Clarke, Norfolkline passenger manager, said:

“Since announcing the launch our new Rosyth to Zeebrugge service, we have been increasingly encouraged by the level of interest from potential customers - so much so it has already warranted the introduction of an extended range of travel options.
As the only continental ferry link, this is an important new service for both Scotland and Europe, and we are looking forward to welcoming our first Scottish passengers on board on 19 May.”

Scottish Viking is currently under construction in Italy and is on schedule to be handed over to Norfolkline at the end of April, with sea trials planned for early May.
