Services to Killingholme transferred to Immingham as of August 1st 2010
The Hague, July 22nd 2010
As part of the integration of Norfolkline into DFDS, and plans to offer Dutch customers an enhanced service level, the DFDS Seaways (formerly Norfolkline) Killingholme to Vlaardingen service will be transferred from the Humber Sea Terminal in Killingholme to the DFDS Riverside Terminal in Immingham as of August 1st 2010.
The service will continue to call at Vlaardingen and operate as an additional route to the existing DFDS Seaways service operating between Immingham and Rotterdam's Maasvlakte Terminal.
Both services will remain on their existing current schedules, and will operate as two distinguishable separate operations to the two different terminal locations in the Netherlands.
Customers today already benefit from the earliest arrival times in the Humber and the transfer of the service to Immingham will bring further advantages:
- The use of the Immingham terminal means that the end-to-end service on the Vlaardingen route is delivered by DFDS Seaways.
- Reduction in driver delays in entering and exiting DFDS Riverside Terminal due to an automated gate control system with a dedicated road access to the facility
- Terminal Infrastructure which improves the speed of discharge and loading operation of vessels
- Immediate access to dual carriage way and motorway connections
The service will transfer from Killingholme to Immingham as per August 1st 2010 and the last arrival in Killingholme will be Saturday July 31st at 06:00 with the final departure from Killingholme being on Saturday July 31st at 18:00.
The first departure from Vlaardingen to Immingham will be Saturday July 31st at 16:00 with arrival in Immingham on the morning of Sunday August 1st and the first departure from Immingham to Vlaardingen will be Monday August 2nd at 20:00.
