Norfolkline announces launch into the coach market on the English Channel from Dover

Dover, January 15th 2010

Norfolkline announced today that it will be offering coach travel on its Dover-Dunkirk route from April 2010.

Norfolkline (in collaboration with the Port of Dunkirk) is installing custom-built coach facilities in Dunkirk, enabling coach companies to take advantage of Norfolkline’s award-winning service onboard its three state of the art vessels.

Theresa E. Foley, UK National Sales Manager, said:

“The new investment will provide unrivalled facilities for coach operators and their customers and be unbeatable when combined with the relaxed and affordable sailing experience we have to offer on the Channel with our fleet of vessels.
Dunkirk being almost equidistant from Paris as Calais, offers coaches the perfect entry point to France and the rest of Northern Europe, with easy access to major arterial roads and with very little congestion.
We are very excited to be growing into this new sector and look forward very much to working with coach operators on both sides of The Channel”

Norfolkline have engaged the services of Ray Brunton to help with the launch and development of the new service. Ray Brunton commented:

“Coach Operators will be impressed with the efforts Norfolkline have taken to involve the trade in the development of their facilities. They are prepared to adopt a very flexible approach towards working with the trade - appreciating that both parties need to win in order to build long term profitable relationships in this sector”

Bookings and fares for coaches will be available from Mid-February 2010.
